Terms of service

These are the terms on which Ferret Media provides Linker. Using the service means agreeing to them.

What the service is

Linker renders a public page from records stored in your own atproto repository, and provides a dashboard for editing those records. We are a renderer and a control panel. We are not the custodian of your content.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and for what is published on a page you control. If you open an atproto account hosted by us, the password to it is the key to an identity you can take elsewhere — keep it somewhere it will still be available if you stop using Linker.

Your content

Your links, profile and theme remain yours. They live in your repository, and you grant us only what we need in order to read and display them on your page. We claim no ownership and no licence beyond that.

Acceptable use

You may not use Linker to publish or link to:

• content that is unlawful where you or your audience are;
• malware, phishing pages, or anything designed to deceive a visitor about where it leads;
• material that harasses or endangers a specific person;
• content sexualising minors, which we report rather than merely remove.

We may suspend a page that breaches this. Suspending a page does not touch your repository — the records remain yours and remain readable elsewhere.

Names

A short name is claimed, not bought. Some names are reserved and cannot be claimed. A name only routes while a subscription is active: if yours lapses, the name stays reserved to you and stops routing, and your page remains reachable at your handle. We may reclaim a name that is being used to impersonate somebody.

Payment

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance, in euro, excluding VAT. You can cancel at any time and keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund partial periods, and we will tell you before a price changes.

Availability

We work to keep Linker up and make no guarantee that it always will be. The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before a claim.

This is also the reason the product is built the way it is: if we were unavailable permanently, your links would still be sitting in your repository, readable by anything that speaks the protocol.

Ending it

You can close your account at any time. We may close yours if it breaches the acceptable use section above, or if payment fails and stays failed after we have told you. If you have an account on our server, you can migrate it away before closing.
